It was a glorious day in Northeast Pennsylvania, and I was determined to soak it all in before Saturday ‘s chores needed to be done. We live in such a fast-paced society that we don’t realize the beauty and history of our own area. A few of the photos show the oldest family farm cemetery in the city of Scranton. The Heerman family played an interracial part of our city’s history. Next, the beautiful Lithuanian cross stands at the St. Joseph/Saint Thomas Moore’s church courtyard. It is a tribute to the parishioners who fought for Lithuania’s Independence in 1920. The rest of the photos was my walking trail along the Lackawanna Heritage corodor.
