Reflections

Some reflections ending 2024.  It has been 366 (Leap Year)days of  living a life well spent in growth and in change. Stretching myself creatively in ways I never imagined. Traveling for the sake of poetry, photography, and painting. This year was also mixed with traveling for the sake of obtaining the right medical care for my daughter. Times spent in these places gave us new medical terminology and finally a sense of hope.
Experiencing a sense of loss in September with the passing of my Uncle Andy, he is missed, especially during this holiday season.
At one of my book signings, a woman came up to me and said your poetry book is helping my daughter talk about the state of her mental health.  She said thank you for your words. This book means so much to us.    We chatted for a while, and when she walked away from the table, this came to mind as tears rolled down my face. That we as human beings with one small word or gesture; How many lives do we touch?  How many hearts do we change?
How many people do we heal?
As the clock strikes midnight, I do not make resolutions anymore.  All that I ask of myself is how I can be a better person on January 1st and the rest of the 365 days of 2025.
Happy New Year! All the blessings for a wonderful year ahead. Slante!!!! during this holiday season.
