It is based on my experiences when I did my internship at a local women’s homeless shelter. Those six months of working at that shelter changed my priorities in life. It taught me so many lessons in social work. Even in the midst of some really tough discussions and tense situations. My hope with this book is that the readers will resonate with the poetry and know they are not alone in their struggles. When I started to write these words, I promised myself that a portion of the royalities would go to a food pantry. Thank you in advance for your support.
