A Sense of Belonging

Saturday night, my husband and I went to meet friends on a warm winter’s evening. Go figure, standing outside, not freezing in a line to see our favorite band. It was nice to see old friends and dancing to the wee hours of 11pm. Our favorite band ,Picture Perfect plays all season long. From summer picnics, weddings, and local bars.

The band gives everyone a sense of belonging and reminiscing of those bygones days. Picture Perfect also gives back to our local community with their fundraising efforts for various causes. So come on and dance with me. Enjoy the photos.

Mary Anne Abdo is an author, poet and photographer. She graduated magna cum laude from Luzerne County Community College with a degree in Human Services. With a background in freelance journalism; she uses her poetry as a source of creative expression, which reflects on many facets of what it means to be a human being living in these modern times. Her self-published poetry book, "Fractured Lollipop Poems of Brokenness Healing and Hope is now on Amazon Mary Anne has a passion for art, culture and literature. Her work has been featured in The Edge of Humanity Magazine,Mind and Matters Magazine, Moonstone Press,Grit and Grace Magazine, Orenaug Mountain Publishing,Pennsylvania Bards,Local Gems Press,The Avocet, Calla Press,Scranton Poets Live, and Studio B's annual poetry anthology. Mary Anne placed second for her photography and short story submission in the Museum of Family Prayer's 2022 Mary Garden contest. She has also collaborated on several children's book, Creative Gems Volumes 2&3, and has been featured internationally in Bindweed Magazine's seasonal anthology.Her work has been archived through the National Library of Ireland courtesy of Bindweed Magazine. She has appeared on the local talk show PA Live, The B Inspired podcast Eat the Storms Podcast and several stage appearances. Her first children's book, Pumpkin The Cat Who Plays With Words is now on Amazon.
