No more symphonies in aisle nine.
Eighties Hair band hit parade list,
is playing softly like the Carpenters.
In grocery stores across the nation.
KISS is playing in the baking aisle with Beth.
Bon Jovi is running away with apples in the fruit aisle.
Peter Frampton please show me the way,
to get cat food.
A/C-D/C shook up the bakery aisle with bread cubes.
Skid Row is saying eighteen and Life cereal is in aisle ten.
The Cars is advertising that candy named O,
and how much we need it so.
Boston is saying don’t look back at last year’s prices.
Fleetwood Mac says freedom is with the frozen food section.
Sometimes Sister Sledge finds their family pack of hamburgers,
so fine.
Aerosmith reminds us that you don’t want to miss another,
two-for-one sale.
Def Leopard told me to buy poured hot sugar sticky buns,
for breakfast.
And every so often Willy Nelson and Robert Plant,
are on the grocery store road again.

It has been two years since I joined Word Press and although I do not post as often as I would like to. It has been an amazing journey of meeting people from all over the world on this platform. The above poem is my 500th piece of work, all this in two years time on that amazing day of the 26th of June 2022. I love reading everyone’s creative work, whether it be poetry, art, short stories, books in the works, books that have been published, and just sharing our ideas about life. I have to say thank you,
thank you and thank you for being here for each other. The best is yet to come have a great weekend
Oh I love how you’ve incorporated these songs in your grocery shopping 💞 Happy anniversary Mary

Thank you Sadje. It is something how the music has changed at the grocery store. It used to be classic music or Frank Sinatra tunes. Now it heavy metal music turned down.
