Material gifts are shiny and gorgeous.
Always wanting something.
Always searching for those perfect trinkets.
Expectations are too high.
Impatiently demanding stuff.
We are told that a gift,
is equal to our love,
and adulation.
So much so,
that we miss just sitting alone,
in the morning breeze.
A lesson on emptiness and nothingness.
Just being is a multitude of gratis offerings.
Sitting by the fireside of true blazing love.
Just listening to it’s crackling embers.
Walking through a forest on a winter’s night.
Standing on a seaside pier,
watching the sun disappear,
into the midnight colored waves.
The stillness of emptiness is one of beauty.
The nothingness of no longer craving everything.
Breaks free the shackles,
that we have forged in life.

i like the sentiment expressed here. Too often we mistake the glitter of the material to represnt qualities that will offer us peace and self assuredness.
