If someone told you,
that I live in Scranton,
and Punxsutawney Pennsylvania.
They are precise.
Needing to be incognito,
is a must for a celebrity marmot.
Especially when my national appearance,
is just one day out of three hundred,
and sixty-four calendar days.
Being a true humanitarian,
I survey Scranton safely strapped,
to my white, red and black truck.
Directing my driver—
To the best city routes.
Picking up and delivering goods of generosity.
For kindness is my true nature,
all that western Pennsylvania limelight,
is just a façade—
A strange occurance, you might say.
On a Tuesday of all days.
Heavens, I was spotted by a blond admirer.
Or so I thought.
She had more of an interest,
of conversing with my driver.
Feature this scene,
in the middle of Wyoming Avenue.
When the traffic light was red and almost green.
This admirer was laughing and telling my driver,
how I made her day.
Exchanging pleasantries no one else noticed.
For it is not everyday you see a famous groundhog,
strapped to a Salvation Army truck.
As we both drove away.
Her raucous laughter mixed with Philadelphia jazz,
was cranking down Lackawanna Avenue.

Thank you, this happened two weeks ago. While I was driving to work I thought my mind was gone. When a Salvation Army turned and there was Mr. Groundhog strapped to a truck. I think I laughed all the way to work.
