Wildest Dreams

An 11 year old girl writes in her unicorn decorated notebook on her family’s front porch. She never dreamt that her words would be published in books, magazines, and the inside of an LCTA bus. This girl hid her notes from everyone, too embarrassed to reveal her personal thoughts. Those notebooks were lost to time, and she had no time to write as life marched on. Until Covid hit all of us like a brick, and this now woman had the time to write.

Step by step, she continued to learn her craft of wordsmithing.  Her mental health poetry book has been used as a teaching tool for abused women to write their own poetry to help cope with their abuse. Her muse Pumpkin teaches children how to write their own stories and poetry.

After walking away from an author’s event today, my words would make a difference in someone’s life. I am humbled, honored, and grateful. Here are some photos from the past 24 hours.
