Artist Be Aware

I just released a children’s book last month. With advertising on several social media platforms, wolves in sheep’s clothing poured out of the unsavory doors of social media. My last book about poetry and mental health was not an eye-catching piece of easy prey advertising for these scammers. But a children’s book was a whole different level of staffing off these people.

I have been following this one book company and did my research as to their level of trustworthiness. She offered me a reasonable and very comprehensive advertising package.  But the day of the advertising promo went live on Instagram. It only lasted for 15 minutes, and she was looking for more money in order to continue the advertising. I  became sick to my stomach, even more so when I re-read the contract and her emails.

Thank God I paid through PayPal, and I immediately started the procedure to revoke the payment. I found out through PayPal that this company duped artists before. Feeling that I had failed myself and everyone involved in my book. Even though I did my research, it is best to blanket ourselves as artists with people, whether it be in business or personal. Who has our best interests at heart.
