Christmas’ Golden Lights

Christmas is declared with blinging lights and newly fresh fallen snow.

But the true light is the light of people who have intertwined into our lives.

Those who have formed us.

Those who have mentored us.

Those who have bid us kind words.

Those who have shown us compassion.

Those who have shared a meal with us at any given table.

Those who have genuinely listened to us.

Those who have wiped a tear from our eyes.

Those who have walked with us.

Those who have declared their love for us.

Those who have entered in and passed through our lives.

Those who have proclaimed good news for the sake of our sadness.

Those who have made us laugh.

Those who have taught us what is good, fair and true.

Those who have shown us how beautiful and precious life can be.

Those who gave us a friendly smile just when we needed it.

Those who gave us a wave and a sign of welcome.

All of these Christmas lists and twinkling lights will go far beyond any holiday season.

It is the light of humanity that we all crave.

More than any packaged gift.

Notice that light that shines within you.

And with your inner light spread orbs of beauty to others.

Oh, what a sight to see of all those glorious golden lights.

Illuminating our world and shooting straight to heaven.
