Homespun Red

Our lives are colored with smatterings of red.

Painted ceramic “vintage red ” lips on Matilda the cookie jar. A prized family treasure from Aunt Kitty still holds memories of ginger snaps and ice cold milk

Left over lemon ice box pie cradled in a shell of pecan sandy cookies. Lined with ruby red strawberries. Topped with oh so fresh blueberries from the market. A new recipe just in time for the Fourth of July.

Roasted chicken and lemon garlic are wafting through the summer air. Encapsulated in my go to red enameled cassoulet.

Tightly woven red rag rugs are lined around the kitchen floor of homespun bliss. Protecting the white, light blue flowered patterned tile from any temporary mishap. While the cats use these rag rugs as a means of exploration and amusing transportation.

Sitting alone in quiet contemplation on the patio. One red cardinal passes by my sight. Reminding me of dad’s constant watch.

  1. Hello Mary Anne, Very nice to meet you, welcome to the blogging world and thank you very much for taking part in our challenge. I love your vintage items and the stories attached.
Due to the time difference, I wasn’t able to reply to your message on Talk to Us (I’m in England).
I see that you eventually managed the pingback, well done, though I can imagine how frustrating it was for you.
